Advanced Chemical Company Renews ITAR Registration
Advanced Chemical Company has renewed its registration status for the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), through the United States Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC). Advanced Chemical Company has been an ITAR registered company since 2015.
Regulatory and Management Systems Representative, Shaun Galligan, said “maintaining our ITAR registration status through the United States Department of State, provides assurance to our customers in both the private and government sectors, that we as an organization are operating within compliance of federal regulatory requirements, which have been established by the Office of Defense Trade Controls Compliance”.
The Office of Defense Trade Controls Compliance requires through Section 38 of the Arms Exports Control Act (AECA) and Section 122.1 of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), that all manufacturers, exporters, and brokers of defense articles, register their organization with Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC). Those registering with the DDTC are required to list which U.S. Munitions Defense Article or Defense Services are associated with the registrant.
Chief Financial Officer, Michael Floskis added “renewing our ITAR registration solidifies our organizations commitment to existing or prospective customers, that we as an organization will fulfill all compliance related obligations. Advanced Chemical Company sees the value in conducting our business in a transparent and compliant manner, and in most instances, we try to not only meet but exceed applicable regulatory requirements, in hopes to distance ourselves from our competitors within the industry”.
The Arms Export Control Act was established in 1976, and provides the President of the United States the authority to control the import and export of defense articles and defense services.
