Advanced Chemical Company Announces Certification to ISO 9001:2015
Advanced Chemical Company has effectively certified its Quality Management System to the latest 9001:2015 standard.
WARWICK, RHODE ISLAND – Advanced Chemical Company has effectively certified its Quality Management System to the latest 9001:2015 standard, issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Advanced Chemical Company maintained a certified quality management system (QMS) under the previous ISO 9001:2008 standard, and is routinely assessed through surveillance audits, by M.S. Certification Services, a Houston – Texas based registrar.
Quality Assurance Specialist, Jared Cunha, stated “instituting this new quality management standard will have significant benefits for our customers, and our organization. The requirements of this new standard caused us to shift our perception of how we view quality, and directed us to identify risks or opportunities, which could have negatively impacted our ability to provide our customers with world class products or refining services.”
The International Organization for Standardization released this newly revised standard, with the expectation that any organization which wishes to maintain a certified quality management system, must transition from the prior 9001:2008 version, by September of 2018.This new standard includes two (2) new clauses, and eliminates the role and responsibilities of the management representative, to inspire collaboration from all employees.
Regulatory & Management Systems Representative, Shaun Galligan, added “the removal of the management representative within the quality management system, now requires active participation from employees at all levels within our organization. We feel that this change in responsibility will certainly cultivate new improvement measures, while strengthening our quality assurance processes and procedures. The exercise of continuously identifying risks or opportunities, and mitigating or eliminating their associated impacts, will provide our customers with assurance, stability, and continuity, through all their business dealings with Advanced Chemical Company. ”
